If there is a better sunset on the planet, I haven't seen it. Each night, hundreds of tourists and locals alike line up on the paths and avenues up and down these steep cliffs of Oia and watch the sunk sink into the horizon. It's silent. So silent, in fact, that my shutter sounded like a clap of thunder. It was reminiscent of City of Angels, with all the shadowy figures lining the skyline at dawn. There was a profound sense that you were witnessing something special. Then, after the sun makes it's full descent, a round of applause and the town comes back to life. Like someone hits play on the remote, suddenly there's chatter, and motion all around.
